We Did IT!

The whole walk was 5.5 days. So far we have raised 22 k for CHAS (including fundraisers). That’s what kept us going through what was a horrendous summit night. Huge thanks to all who donated and there’s still time to donate if you wish. If you would like to contribute to CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland) please click on the link below.

Some Background To Our Trip

So far we raised 22 k for CHAS and the whole walk was 5.5 days. We started on Saturday 18th in the Kilimanjaro national park. (Machame gate).

Day 1 walked to Machame camp.
Day 2 walked to Shira Cave Camp
Day 3 walked to Baranco Camp
Day 4 walked to Karanga Camp
Day 5 walked to Barafu camp. We arrived there around 2 pm, had some food then tried to sleep until 9.30 pm, had some dinner then set off at 11 pm to attempt the summit, walked 8 hrs through the night, it was bitterly cold and very windy.

We arrived on the morning of the 23rd around 7 am to see the sunrise. Sadly not everyone made it but delighted we did! It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

Raised a load of money and that’s what kept us going through that horrendous summit night. Huge thanks to all who donated and there’s still time to donate if you wish. SEE THE LINK ABOVE.
